About Dentons
Dentons is the world’s largest law firm. We’re 20,000+ people globally across 80+ countries including USA; Europe; India and Asia. We are a global polycentric firm which is expanding rapidly in an increasingly globalised legal industry.
Dentons now consistently ranks as one of the five best regarded legal brands in the world according to the Acritas Global Elite Law Firm Brand Index.
We have an exciting opportunity for a personable and proactive Legal Assistant to join our Adelaide office in a dual support role across our leading Employment and Intellectual Property & Technology teams.
This is a unique chance to work across two dynamic areas of legal practice, offering variety, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting our legal professionals and their clients. While the role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis there may be flexibility to reduce working hours across the week - for example, maintaining daily contact while working shorter hours each day.
About the Role
Providing direct support to Senior Partners (including our Adelaide Head of Office) and their teams, key responsibilities include:
- Calendar management, including scheduling meetings, court hearings, and tracking key dates
- Drafting, formatting, editing, and preparing legal correspondence and documents, with a strong focus on formatting and attention to detail
- Preparing and collating Briefs to Counsel
- Managing financial processes and the full life cycle of legal matters, from opening files and conflict checking, high-volume end-of-month invoicing, trust payments, write offs, file closing and archiving
- Managing day-to-day administrative tasks, including answering calls, mail, scanning and printing
- Maintaining a professional and friendly demeanour while liaising with clients, third parties, and internal teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
About You
- Background in legal administration support or a law student with at least two years remaining in your degree and proven experience in legal support
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, with demonstrated skills in formatting complex documents, using styles, templates, and reviewing tools
- Fast, accurate, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
- Discreet and conscientious in handling sensitive information
- Experience with Elite or similar finance software for managing expenses, billing, and reporting
- Strong knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to produce polished and professional documentation.
If you’re looking for a role that offers variety, challenge, and the chance to thrive in a legal support career, we’d love to hear from you.
