ICT Systems Engineer

We are looking for someone who will help us continue to modernise and automate our Microsoft environment, improving reliability, security and efficiency, and enabling our people to do their best work through technology.

 

The Role

As our highly valued ICT Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the technical installation, configuration and support of new and disruptive technologies across the firm
  • Stabilising, supporting and improving core systems and security platforms
  • Implementing, supporting and continuously improving Dentons’ cloud and identity platforms
  • Ensuring the smooth, efficient day‑to‑day operation of the Dentons IT environment, with a strong focus on:
    • Leading the design, deployment and support of Microsoft cloud and platform technologies
    • Supporting and improving core identity, security and productivity services

·  Ensuring stable, secure and efficient day-to-day operation of the Dentons Microsoft environment, with a strong focus on:

    • Microsoft Azure
    • Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and hybrid identity services
    • Microsoft 365 and collaboration platforms
    • End-user compute and modern device management

You will also play a key role in:

  • Driving automation and efficiency improvements to better enable our people through technology
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance system performance, reliability and user experience

This is a complex, hands‑on role that requires a multi‑talented individual who:

Who will you be working with?

Led by Paul Conaghan, our National ICT team operate out of our Wellington and Auckland offices. You’ll work collaboratively with the wider Corporate Services team to improve business management practices and service delivery standards. This role is the last piece of our ICT team puzzle and you’ll join a team of ICT professionals providing top-notch ICT Support to our people.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

 

Demonstrated knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Cloud and Platform Technologies, including:
    • Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS and core platform services)
    • Microsoft Entra ID and identity management (hybrid identity, Conditional Access, MFA)
    • Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams)
  • Automation and Platform Operations:
    • PowerShell scripting and automation
    • Microsoft Power Platform (e.g. Power Automate, Forms, Power Apps)
    • Understanding of Artificial Intelligence and agent technology
  • Security and Modern Workplace:
    • Secure configuration of Microsoft platforms
    • Endpoint and identity security concepts
  • Technical qualifications, for example Microsoft Certified and /or tertiary qualification is desired
  • Knowledge of iManage Cloud and/or Elite 3E would be advantageous, but not essential
