Dentons are in a growth phase, and are looking for a Senior Associate to join their team in their Auckland office. The Dentons’ Corporate and Commercial Team advises local, national and international clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters.

About this role

The Corporate and Commercial Team advise local, national and international clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. This includes listed companies, iwi, local subsidiaries of multinationals, fund managers, private companies, trusts, and individuals. 

As a Senior lawyer in the team, your responsibilities will be multifaceted. Depending on your experience and areas of interest your work could include the following: mergers and acquisitions; domestic and international transactions; business and corporate advisory; capital markets; joint ventures, partnering and alliancing; resource and energy; and/or infrastructure projects

You will be part of a dynamic and inclusive team that works in partnership with their clients, where you will get plenty of valuable experience. We are a future focussed firm, and that ethos extends to our people too.  

About you

The ideal lawyer will have 7+ yearsexperience and lead work on files. You will need to be a strong team player and have a genuine ambition to establish yourself as a recognised professional in the corporate and commercial field. You will enjoy mentoring and supporting other lawyers, have a flexible and proactive approach to work, like variety, and focused on fostering strong relationships across the market. 

You will need to have strong general corporate expertise, ideally with experience in some of the following areas:

  • Mergers and aquisitions
  • Domestic and international transactions
  • Business and corporate advisory
  • Capital markets
  • Joint ventures, partnering and alliancing
  • Resource and energy
  • Infrastructure projects
  • Commercial contracts
