About the Role

 

As a Senior Associate in our dynamic construction litigation team, you will play a pivotal role in managing and leading various litigation cases, primarily focusing on disputes arising in the Queensland building industry.

 

This includes a wide array of matters such as commercial building disputes, development, infrastructure projects, engineering issues, residential building conflicts, and insolvency disputes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee and conduct the day-to-day management of litigation cases in Queensland state Courts and Tribunals.
  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of junior solicitors, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the Partner to ensure strategic litigation planning and execution.
  • Engage in active mentoring and development of junior team members, enhancing their professional growth and ensuring high-quality legal service.
  • Lead trial preparations and represent clients effectively in court, ensuring the excellent presentation and argumentation of cases.
  • Participate in business development activities, helping to expand the firm's client base and strengthen existing relationships.

About You

 

The ideal candidate for this role is a motivated and seasoned litigator with a minimum of five years of post-qualification experience. The ideal candidate will have significant experience within construction law.

 

You should have a proven track record of successfully handling complex litigation cases and possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • A qualified lawyer with at least five years of litigation experience, ideally within the construction sector.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience in managing and training junior legal staff.
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills, with a talent for clear, persuasive arguments both in writing and verbally.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle important and complex legal challenges with professionalism and composure.
  • A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
