ROLE

The Legal Applications Analyst provides advanced technical support for a portfolio of legal applications, for example: matter and transaction management, document automation, contract lifecycle management, legal AI tools, workflow enablement, and electronic signature solutions. The role ensures these applications operate reliably, remain current, and meet functional and security standards.

 

The role also supports evaluation and onboarding of new application capabilities, including technical due diligence and vendor engagement.

 

The analyst works closely with the Knowledge and Legal Operations teams to configure and enhance applications in support of the firm’s user community and legal/business processes.

 

From time to time, the role may also provide secondary support for additional applications as required.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains day-to-day operations of assigned applications.
  • Configures applications to operate optimally in alignment with business and technical requirements.
  • Provides advanced technical support (Level 2 and 3) by responding in a timely manner to escalated incidents and service requests.
  • Performs technical implementations and onboarding of new applications
  • Performs ongoing technical maintenance (for example, certificate updates).
  • Performs technical due diligence when evaluating new applications or enhancements (for example, architecture, security, integration, and operational fit).
  • Engages with internal stakeholders (for example, Risk, Privacy, and Commercial teams) and vendors to support the evaluation and onboarding of new tools.
  • Maintains accurate application and service records within the service catalog.
  • Assists with usage monitoring and license tracking in line with applicable agreements.
  • Assists with vendor management activities (support, procurement, renewals, and relationship management).
  • Ensures required security features and configuration standards are implemented and maintained.
  • Provides feedback and input related to functional support and training as required.
  • Monitors the legal technology landscape for emerging trends and developments.
  • Follows Business Technology change management and incident management processes.
  • Produces and maintains procedural and technical documentation.

  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills. Written and verbal French communication skills an asset.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in computer science preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred: minimum of three (3) years of practical experience working in a law firm or other professional services environment.
  • Proven advanced support experience with legal applications such as: matter and transaction management, document automation, contract lifecycle management, legal AI tools, workflow enablement, and electronic signature solutions.

This role is a new position.

 

The target salary range for this position is $90,000 – $100,000, commensurate with the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. Dentons is committed to equitable and competitive compensation. This target range falls within our internal salary ranges, which are based on comparable roles in the external market.  We strive to hire, promote, and transfer individuals at the entry point of the range, with consideration given to prior experience, relevant skills, and market conditions.
