Enterprise Messaging Administrator

Dentons US LLP is seeking an Enterprise Messaging Administrator to ensure the seamless operation, security, and advancement of our Messaging and Collaboration platforms. Familiarity with the latest applications, technologies, and their integration into existing systems is essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the installation, configuration, and maintenance of email servers and applications. 
• Administer and support Active Directory, DNS, and Microsoft Exchange
• Create maintenance schedules, monitor system performance, identify email misuse with diagnostic tools, and compile performance statistics and reports
• Update and maintain systems management knowledge and process improvements, adjusting configuration management records as needed
• Design and oversee the DNS server for outbound and inbound messaging and domain name record identification
• Implement security, anti-spam methods, monitor system abuse, and address complaints
• Set standards for Exchange and other related services
• Ensure business continuity and high availability while overseeing Exchange, Microsoft Teams
• Guarantee that Messaging Systems meet service levels and address any service disruptions
• Participate in out-of-hours IT support on rotation
• Stay updated on technologies, ITIL processes, and departmental procedures. 
• Uphold local and regional IS operational standards
• Manage user issues and ticket queues promptly, prioritizing critical concerns. 
• Handle other relevant duties as required

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience (MS Certifications preferred)
• 5+ years of expertise in Exchange systems including Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 / 2019 and Exchange Online (Office 365)
• Proficient troubleshooting skills
• Experience with MDM solutions like MobileIron or comparable
• Knowledge of SMTP gateway solutions like Mimecast
• System health management skills including monitoring, backup/restore, clustering, and storage
• Familiarity with messaging encryption, such as TLS 
• Experience with Quest Collaboration Services or other GAL Sync tools 
• Proficiency with Outlook email clients 
• Familiarity with mobile devices (Apple / Android)
• In-depth understanding of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 / 2016 / 2019
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory
• Comprehensive knowledge of networking protocols related to messaging systems
• Strong skills in planning, analysis, documentation, and communication
• Experience with Azure, Office 365, and Microsoft Teams
• Familiarity with virtualization software (Hyper-V / VMware). 
• Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure
• Outstanding communication, time management, and organizational skills 
• Ability to operate independently and within a team
