IP&T Docket Specialist (Patent)

The Firm is currently recruiting for an IP&T Docket Specialist, Patent Docket.
Responsibilities
- Docket incoming postal and electronic foreign and domestic patent mail from the USPTO and foreign associates.
- De-docket action items from the docket system.
- Update critical information in the patent docketing database daily as indicated by attorney, paralegal and legal administrative assistant instructions.
- Create new patent records within the docketing software system and resolve any discrepancies within the new business intake system and the docketing software system.
- Generate basic docket reports and queries as requested by attorneys, paralegals and legal administrative assistants.
- Handle all inquiries from attorneys, paralegals and legal administrative assistants in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist with developing and documenting patent docketing business processes.
- Assist the IP&T Docket Manager, Patent Docket with special projects/requests as needed.
- Other duties as assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position.
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience utilizing intellectual property docketing software; experience using Inprotech highly desirable
- Minimum 2 years direct patent docketing experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite applications including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of domestic and international patent processes and laws as they pertain to docketing
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience
Salary
Chicago Only DOE: $75,000 - $90,000
