IT Training Supervisor

Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting for an IT Training Supervisor. This position will be responsible for overseeing the scheduling, delivery, marketing, and evaluation of training programs across the Firm. This role combines strategic planning, team leadership, and hands-on training delivery. The ideal candidate is passionate about end-user success, embraces change, and fosters a collaborative and professional environment. This position also contributes to the success of the business technology support teams and participates in the budget process.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the evaluation, implementation, and evolution of learning management and virtual classroom tools in collaboration with technical and vendor resources.
- Define and enforce standards for the delivery of learning programs across the training organization.
- Communicate project schedules, resolve scheduling conflicts, and ensure timely delivery of training programs.
- Provide regular updates to the Service Delivery Manager on program implementation, milestones, and resource issues.
- Coordinate logistics for learning sessions, including scheduling, publishing classes, reserving facilities, and maintaining evaluations.
- Develop and test learning programs in collaboration with subject matter experts and technical teams.
- Lead, mentor, and manage training staff, including hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and professional development.
- Foster a team culture that encourages ownership, continuous learning, and open communication.
- Model desired work values and practices, and act as a change agent within the team.
- Liaise with sponsors, clients, and IT personnel to communicate training strategies, successes, and challenges.
- Develop clear, non-technical communications to explain technical concepts and training benefits.
- Provide exceptional client service by anticipating needs, offering solutions, and demonstrating professionalism.
- Participate in strategic planning and budgeting for the Training organization.
- Stay current with industry trends by participating in professional organizations and attending relevant conferences and seminars.
- Deliver learning sessions using various modalities including virtual classrooms, one-on-one coaching, and workshops.
- Coordinate logistics for learning sessions including scheduling, publishing classes, reserving facilities, and maintaining evaluations.
- Support other IT teams such as Service Desk and Applications groups as needed.
- Partner with HR and business leaders to align training initiatives with organizational goals and competency frameworks.
- Monitor and report on training effectiveness using LMS data, survey feedback, and attendance metrics to inform continuous improvement.
- Lead training efforts for new initiatives, including pre-project planning, ad hoc requests, and skill sprint development.
- Leverage AI-enhanced tools and workflow automation platforms to deliver scalable and personalized learning experiences.
- Other duties as assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position.
Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience coordinating logistics and delivering training programs across multiple modalities.
- 2+ years of experience supervising and mentoring training staff.
- Proven experience with learning management systems and delivery technologies.
- Experience in instructional design and developing individualized learning plans.
- Mastery of core applications including iManage, O365 including MS Teams and LMS tools.
- Familiarity with tools such as Captivate, Camtasia, and Articulate is a plus.
- Experience with newer technologies that incorporate AI.
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Exceptional client service orientation with a proactive and professional demeanor.
- Legal environment experience is beneficial but not required.
Salary
Chicago Only DOE: $134,200 - $141,900
Washington DC Only DOE: $138,800 - $146,900
