Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting for a Rates Specialist. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of billing rates and fee structures across the firm. The Rates Specialist will work with the Rates Supervisor to ensure that partner and attorney rates comply with client agreements and internal policies, supporting accurate billing and revenue management.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with the Rates Supervisor maintaining and updating billing rates, discounts, and fee arrangements.
  • Ensure all rates comply with client contractual obligations, firm policies, and market standards.
  • Coordinate with finance, legal, and business development teams to analyze rate structures and recommend adjustments.
  • Manage the approval process for rate changes, communicating updates to internal stakeholders and clients as necessary.
  • Monitor billing and ebilling reports to ensure rate accuracy and identify discrepancies or issues.
  • Monitor all new matter set-ups for accuracy, multi payor and payor information.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with IT and finance departments to optimize systems for rate management and reporting.
  • Other duties as required to fully meet the requirements of this position.

 

Experience & Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in rate management, billing, or finance required.
  • Law firm or professional services experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Elite 3E platform or Aderant required.
  • Strong understanding of legal billing practices, client fee arrangements, e-billing and revenue recognition.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, billing platforms, and rate management systems.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

 

Pursuant with states' laws, the salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 based on experience and local market.
