Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting for a Senior Enterprise Messaging Administrator. This position will ensure seamless operation, security, and advancement of our Messaging and Collaboration platforms. The Senior Messaging Administrator will focus on Exchange Online and Microsoft 365 environments, requiring deep expertise in these areas. The successful candidate will be well-versed in the latest applications, technologies, and their integration into existing systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Lead the installation, configuration, and maintenance of email services and applications, ensuring they meet organizational needs and industry standards.
- Administer and provide robust support for Active Directory, EntraID, DNS, and Microsoft Exchange, with a specialized focus on Exchange Online and supporting or related technologies.
- Perform administration and management of EntraID components such as Enterprise Applications and Application Registrations.
- Assist with administration of Active Directory objects including but not limited to users, groups, organizational units, etc.
- Maintain overall health of Active Directory environment including but limited to domain replication, domain name services, and certificate management.
- Implement and maintain automations to perform offboarding requests of Dentons staff members.
- Perform administration and implementation of policies within Mimecast Email Gateway.
- Maintain and deploy supplementary services for the Mimecast Email Gateway, such as Mimecast Synchronization Engine.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules, continuously monitor system performance, identify and diagnose email misuse using advanced diagnostic tools, and compile comprehensive performance statistics and reports.
- Maintain up-to-date systems management knowledge, implement process improvements, and adjust configuration management records as necessary to ensure system integrity and efficiency.
- Manage external (IBM NS1) and internal DNS systems (Active Directory Domain Services), ensuring accurate domain name record identification and resolution.
- Implement and manage security measures, including anti-spam methods, monitoring system abuse to maintain a secure messaging environment.
- Ensure business continuity and high availability of messaging systems and client email access
- Maintain service levels for messaging systems, proactively preventing service disruptions were possible
- Oversee the administration and configuration of Microsoft Intune, ensuring policies and profiles are appropriately set up to meet organizational requirements.
- Manage the enrollment of devices into Microsoft Intune, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and security standards.
- Deploy and manage applications through Intune, ensuring they are properly installed, updated, and configured on all managed devices.
- Provide support to users for Intune-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving any problems related to device management, app deployment, and policy enforcement.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of Intune configurations, policies, and procedures, and generate reports on device compliance and security status.
- Participate in out-of-hours IT support on a rotational basis, providing essential support and maintenance during off-peak hours.
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies, ITIL processes, and departmental procedures, applying this knowledge to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Efficiently manage user issues and ticket queues, prioritizing and resolving critical concerns in a timely manner.
- Manage project work and non-user related incidents via Dentons IT preferred project management platform, Asana .
- Other duties as assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. MS Certifications are highly preferred.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in managing Exchange systems, including Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 / 2016 / 2019 and Exchange Online (Microsoft 365).
- Proficient in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues related to messaging systems.
- Proficient in SMTP gateway solutions like Mimecast, ensuring secure and reliable email delivery.
- Strong skills in system health management, including monitoring, backup/restore procedures, clustering, and storage management.
- Familiarity with messaging encryption technologies, such as TLS, to ensure secure communications.
- Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Outlook email clients.
- In-depth understanding of Microsoft Windows Server environments, including 2016, 2019, and 2022.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, ensuring efficient directory services management.
- Strong skills in planning, analysis, documentation, and communication, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
- Fundamental understanding of the Azure platform and on-premises virtualization solutions such as VMWare Vcenter.
- Fundamental understanding of the Microsoft 365 platform but an extensive understanding of Exchange Online
- Extensive experience working with EntraID and underlying technologies and solutions.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and management of Exchange, Exchange Online, Active Directory, EntraID, and other Microsoft 365 services.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure.
- Outstanding communication, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to operate independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to connect the dots between multiple systems and data points to identify path to resolution.
- Experience in Identity Management administration, including the implementation and maintenance of identity solutions within Microsoft 365 and Active Directory environments.
- Extensive experience in configuring and managing Microsoft Intune, with a deep understanding of its capabilities and best practices.
- Proven track record in managing device enrollment, compliance policies, and configuration profiles within Intune.
- Experience deploying and managing applications through Intune, ensuring seamless installation and updates across all managed devices.
- Experience providing user support for Intune-related issues, with a focus on effective troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Skilled in maintaining detailed documentation of Intune configurations and generating reports on device compliance and security status.
- Experience with managing Kiteworks (formerly Accellion) systems using secure file share a plus.
Salary
Chicago Only DOE: $112,000 - $140,000
Washington DC Only DOE: $115,000 - $145,000
