Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting for a Senior Manager, Financial Systems. This position reports to the Senior Director of Financial Programs and leads a team responsible for the development, administration, and management of financial technology solutions. The Senior Manager must engage key stakeholders, recommend department technology priorities, and align resources for successful completion of projects while maintaining current technologies and tools used by the Firm’s Finance department. Blending program management, stakeholder engagement, relationship management, engineering, process improvement and organizational change management capabilities are key to success. The Senior Manager will manage a team and must foster an environment that motivates high performance, accountability, and quality.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business priorities and organizational goals
  • Work with senior financial leadership on priorities for the team and ensure alignment, resourcing and governance with key stakeholders
  • Be an extended member of the Finance team, aligning Finance’s technology capabilities and roadmaps with their business goals and priorities, recommend new or alternative technology solutions where appropriate, and implement those recommendations with minimal disruption to business services
  • Ensure that program milestones are accomplished, and timelines are met, with regular communication updates to maintain alignment between expectations and delivery
  • Work in tandem with the IT function to maintain Finance’s technology systems while controlling risk and the operational performance of those systems
  • Recruit, manage, and develop a strong, engaged, high performance-oriented team
  • Manage the relevant 3rd party vendor relationships
  • Other duties as required to meet the full requirements of the position

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields (degrees in Finance and/or Accounting also acceptable with relevant technology experience)
  • Minimum 7+ years relevant business experience
  • Minimum 3+ years’ leadership experience managing strategic initiatives and programs
  • Experience with professional service time and billing software (3E experience required)
  • Experience with databases (particularly MS SQL Server) and SQL development
  • Experience with any of the following will be considered a plus: MS Power BI, the IntApp product line, and Cloud related technologies (MS Azure experience preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work under pressure and think clearly in challenging situations in a logical manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task various projects
