Legal Administrative Assistant (Patent)

Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting for a Legal Administrative Assistant for our Dallas office. This position will provide administrative support to IP Patent Prosecution lawyers in a highly collaborative working environment.
Responsibilities
- Preparing finalizing and filing documents in US Patent Office in US provisional, utility, design and PCT applications, i.e., Transmittals, Declarations, Power of Attorneys, Assignments, Transmittals, Extensions of Time, 3.73 Statements, Information Disclosure Statements, Maintenance Fee payments, etc.
- Preparing and finalizing client correspondence; maintaining attorney docket for both US and foreign patent matters.
- Candidate will have Patent Prosecution experience which includes EFS filing, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CPI docketing software.
- Handle administrative confidential/sensitive firm and/or client information.
- Other duties as assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years legal secretarial experience and at least 3 years of IP Patent Prosecution experience in a mid to large sized law firm
- Proficient in legal secretarial and administrative tasks including, but not limited to, document preparation, time entry, expenses, telephone contact, travel arrangements and calendar maintenance.
- Ability to work in a high volume, high energy environment.
- Team oriented and committed to providing a high level of client service.
- Ability to prioritize multiple and sometimes competing task that require different skill with minimum supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a focus on providing excellent client service.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio experience is also preferred. Must exhibit strong typing skills and have the ability to learn and quickly become proficient in new computer software programs. Availability for some overtime is required.
- Excellent written and oral communication and strong organizational skills.
- Must be detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, the ability to prioritize incoming/outgoing tasks and work effectively independently and within a team.
- Availability for overtime may at times be required.
