Dentons’ Global Technology, Media & Telecommunications group includes over 600 lawyers, who represent organisations in connection with technology, commercial, intellectual property and data protection projects and transactions. 

 

We have an excellent opportunity for a non-contentious TMT Associate to join our growing practice, based in Glasgow or Edinburgh. You will be working with one of the UK's key TMT teams, tier 1 ranked in technology and telecoms, commercial contracts and data protection, and will have the opportunity to be involved in some of the most innovative work in the field.

 

With our global presence and contacts, we are one of only a few firms that can provide multinational businesses with a coordinated solution for their TMT needs throughout the world. The UK TMT practice works as one team across Glasgow, Edinburgh, London and Milton Keynes. 

 

We work with an interesting variety of clients across all sectors, with specific expertise in technology, retail, engineering, logistics, financial services, food and drink and life sciences. You can expect a broad mix of work ranging from commercial contracts, technology contracts, outsourcing, intellectual property strategy and transactions as well as data privacy work. 

 

Our team works with household names such as Aggreko, Argos, EDF Energy, DHL, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Royal Mail, Sainsbury's, The Edrington Group, Total, and Virgin Group. You will also work on large global projects with other Associates and teams across the Dentons network.

  • Advise on market leading TMT projects and transactions for a variety of clients across the UK and internationally.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, with a good level of client contact.
  • Contribute to business development, raising your own profile and supporting the continued growth of the practice.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and raise the profile of the firm externally.

 

Required Experience & Skills


You will ideally have the following experience, skills & attributes:

 

  • Experience of non-contentious TMT work - commercial contracts, technology contracts, outsourcing, intellectual property & data privacy.
  • TMT support work e.g. drafting the commercial / TMT section of due diligence reports, negotiating warranties and indemnities.
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working on similar work for sophisticated clients is desired.
  • Experience of providing client seminars and training.
  • Advanced legal research skills.
  • Experienced in contributing to business development activities.
  • Dedication to client service.
  • A keen interest in technology, and an understanding of how businesses implement and use technology.
