The Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and drive IT-led projects within our organisation. This role will be accountable for managing, coordinating, and reporting on the portfolio of IT projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT project management, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects, ensuring they meet the defined objectives and deliverables. Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Portfolio Management: Manage and coordinate the portfolio of IT projects, ensuring alignment with the organisation's strategic goals. Monitor and report on the status of projects within the portfolio, identifying and addressing any risks or issues.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery. Facilitate communication and collaboration among project teams and stakeholders.
- Resource Management: Allocate and manage resources effectively to ensure project success. Identify and address any resource constraints or conflicts.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Develop and implement risk management plans to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within the allocated budget. Monitor and report on project financials, including cost tracking and variance analysis.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders. Ensure transparency and accountability in project reporting.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve project management processes and methodologies. Implement best practices and lessons learned to enhance project delivery.
Required Experience, Skills, and Attributes
- Proven experience in IT project management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex IT projects.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA).
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address project risks and issues.
- Experience in budget management and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, software development, and cloud technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management.
