The Team

 

The Finance team at Dentons UK, Ireland and Middle East (UKIME) is a central function responsible for financial reporting, control and performance analysis across the region. The team supports partners and business services by delivering accurate financial information and insights to inform decision-making.

 

The Role

 

Operating in an international professional services environment, you will play a key role in management reporting, budgeting, and maintaining robust financial governance, while providing a responsive and collaborative service to stakeholders. You will assist in the production of monthly management accounts for the UK and consolidating results for the UK, Ireland and Middle East regions, as well as preparation of budget variance reports for business services departments and practice groups.

 

Responsibilities

 

Monthly Reporting:

 

  • Production of UK management accounts and consolidated UK, Ireland & Middle East management accounts in Excel using data from 3E.
  • Production of the Executive Leadership Team report which includes the management accounts and other relevant client and performance data.
  • Preparation and posting of monthly journals into 3E for accruals and prepayments
  • Preparation of other month end reporting including variance analysis for business services departments and providing meaningful insights into those variances


Other:

 

  • Responsible for coordinating the quarterly and annual submission of data for the PwC and other legal and statutory surveys
  • Preparing the monthly bank packs and sending relevant financial information on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Overseeing the management accounts mailbox and responding to queries in relation to general ledger codes, budgets and invoice management
  • Ad hoc queries from Senior Management, Business Services Directors, Practice Managers, and other areas of the business
  • Reconciling headcount data and ensuring management account records are up to date
  • Contributing to ad hoc projects including the improvement and streamlining of various management account processes

 

Required experience, skills, and attributes

 

Technical skills

 

  • Part or fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Proficient in Excel (including charts and pivot tables)
  • Knowledge of 3E would be an advantage
  • Sound working knowledge of databases, Word and Powerpoint
  • Can clearly explain problems and issues to others and contribute to their resolution
  • Experience of dealing with partners and senior management
  • Experience of working in a law firm or a professional services environment
  • Understands the need for documentation and well-defined procedures
