The Role


Our market leading Projects team is looking for a new Practice Development Lawyer to join the team. This is a role offering a high level of responsibility to support the Department across the breadth of its practice but focusing predominately on the energy and transport side of the practice.  
The position would suit a fee-earning lawyer or existing Practice Development Lawyer with extensive experience within the Energy and transport sectors, who has been a pro-active creator and contributor of legal know-how materials.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Legal research
  • Producing client briefings and legal updates
  • Creating and contributing to legal know-how material
  • Preparing and reviewing precedents
  • Deal support and back-up fee earning
  • Developing and coordinating legal training, including delivery
  • Sounding-board / mentor for fee earners
  • Interface with PDLs from other departments
  • Assisting with pitches and marketing

 

Required experience, skills, and attributes

 

  • Knowledge of UK and international energy and transport markets and legal frameworks 
  • Strong drafting and superb research abilities
  • Excellent intellectual and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and understand the likely practical implications of regulatory change
  • Ability to work pro-actively and with minimal supervision
  • Experience of business development
