Role Purpose  

 

Reporting to an HRBP to support the wider HR Business Partnering team. This role will provide day-to-day support to the HR Business Partners.

 

The role-holder will have core task responsibilities and ensure the provision of a professional and high-quality HR service. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • With support from HRBP, provide HR guidance on T&Cs, policies, procedures and best practices from end to end (e.g. Family Leave, Working Abroad, Hybrid Working, Flexible Working Requests).
  • Manage long-term sickness cases, including the administration of Permanent Health Insurance (PHI) applications, management of sick pay entitlements and coordination of Occupational Health assessments and reviews.
  • Maintain contact with employees on long-term sickness and support phased returns.
  • Advise line managers on absence protocols and related meetings where appropriate.
  • Manage flexible working and parental leave requests, with HRBP support.
  • Support employee wellbeing, mental health, and reasonable adjustments, utilising available teams / resources.
  • Conduct exit interviews and mid-probation check-ins; support probation extensions/terminations.
  • Support HRBP and work closely with ER manager in assisting all employee relations cases. (e.g. absence, long-term sickness, disciplinary, performance, grievance).
  • Deliver induction and development sessions (e.g. Accelerate).
  • Attend stakeholder meetings with or on behalf of the HRBP, providing HR updates.
  • Support VISA/IR35 queries and renewals, liaising with external providers and HRBP.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records.
  • Conduct secondment check-ins.
  • Review ad doc employee paperwork, supporting HR Services.
  • Ensure compliance with SRA and LSOS processes.
  • Assist with cyclical HR processes (e.g. Talent Mapping, Career Conversations, Dentons Voice, Salary Review).
  • Contribute to HR projects as directed by HRBP.
  • Manage assigned HR processes, maintaining up-to-date procedures. 
  • Demonstrate a good understand of HR metrics and how to interpret them.
  • Collaborate with the wider HR team and attend relevant meetings.
  • Assist in the delivery of organisational change programmes, including TUPE transfers and redundancy processes.

  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with staff at all levels.
  • Applies sound judgement in routine HR matters, knowing when to seek guidance or escalate.
  • Demonstrates commercial awareness and quality in the service they provide. 
  • Maintains confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Manages time and priorities efficiently, meeting deadlines and responding promptly to queries.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and build positive working relationships.

 

Qualification & Experience  

 

  • Previous experience in an HR administrative or advisory role.
  • Graduate level or equivalent; further HR qualifications are desirable.
  • Experience working in a professional services or corporate environment.
