The Role


Dentons is at an exciting time in its strategy and a major focus on marketing and business development activity is seen as crucial to its success. The Head of Marketing Operations will lead the operational delivery of the firm’s marketing function, ensuring the effective running of our processes, management of technology and data ensuring we execute our marketing and BD initiatives with the greatest possible ROI. This role is responsible for optimising marketing systems, data, and workflows to support the firm’s strategic objectives and enable the team to deliver maximum impact. The Head of Marketing Operations will work closely with the Director of Clients & Markets as part of the function's senior leadership team and with key business stakeholders. 

 

Responsibilities


Key Areas of Responsibility:

 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the marketing function, ensuring efficient processes and high-quality delivery.
  • Develop and implement best practice processes, tools, and systems to support marketing activities and campaigns.
  • Build on this year’s launch of a new client pipeline management system to optimise the data we extract to drive client growth.
  • Work with the Head of Clients to launch a new-look client listening programme to the business so it is inculcated in our culture.
  • Manage marketing technology platforms (e.g., CRM, email marketing, analytics tools) and ensure data integrity and compliance setting an AI strategy for the department.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to support firm-wide marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on marketing performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement including the team's own metrics.
  • Oversee the management of marketing budgets, ensuring effective allocation and ROI tracking.
  • Support the development and delivery of marketing collateral, digital content, and event logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies and relevant regulations in all marketing operations.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and suppliers as required.

 

Key Skills and Experience:

 

  • Significant experience in a senior marketing operations or related role within a professional services environment, preferably legal.
  • Proven ability to manage marketing systems, data, and processes.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing operational, digital and design services.
  • Excellent organisational, project management, and analytical abilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with marketing technology platforms and data analytics.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
