The Role
Are you a passionate internal communications professional with a track record of producing creative content and campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences?
The world's largest law firm, Dentons, is seeking a creative internal communications professional to join their Internal Communications & Engagement team in the UK, Ireland and Middle East (UKIME) region. A part of a busy team of three sitting in the wider Clients & Markets team, the successful candidate (FTC for maternity cover) will partner with the Internal Communications & Engagement Manager to produce internal content and publications for partner and regionwide audiences. They will also be responsible for devising and executing internal comms materials that articulate the region's strategy and supporting narrative; support its business priorities and initiatives; and spotlight and celebrate its people and the successes for the firm's clients. The candidate will have a strong journalistic impulse and talent for storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-quality content for internal channels, to support agreed initiatives including:
- Day-to-day/BAU written content production for the UKIME intranet, newsletters and other publications for partners, lawyers and business services professionals, ensuring content is timely, informative and engaging.
- Video: concept/series development, storyboarding and project management – working collaboratively with designers in our global Brand team.
- Other dynamic media creation, such as infographics, digital signage content and screensavers to supplement campaigns and initiatives.
- Contribute to devising and implementing impactful and engaging multi-channel campaigns and tactics to drive overall business strategy and performance across multiple functional areas, such as HR, Finance, Operations, Risk/Compliance, etc.
- Manage the digital screens in the UK offices, ensuring the latest campaigns and content are featured.
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of major internal broadcast events, including townhalls and partner meetings, supporting on executive leader materials and comms where necessary.
- Work with select business stakeholders to build internal communications templates for them to use to self-service their internal comms requirements.
- Produce monthly analytics reports on digital content to continually refine comms approaches and tactics to best meet the needs of the business.
- Keep the IC calendar up-to-date and make use of the channels editorial calendar for forward planning.
Required experience, skills, and attributes
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Previous experience in journalism or communications roles (agency or in-house), strong preference for internal communications experience.
- Proven success in developing high quality content.
- Digitally savvy, with a good understanding of social media (especially LinkedIn), excellent MS Office skills and experience using email newsletter platforms and SharePoint.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with superb attention to detail.
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to see messages and content through different audience lenses.
- Highly organised and deadline oriented, with the ability to quickly prioritise changing workloads.
- Creative thinker and adept storyteller, with the ability to tell engaging and powerful stories through words and visuals, and an understanding of the creative design process.
- Collaborative, resilient team player who deals well with complex structures.
- Ability to build strong relationships within a broad range of stakeholders.
- Action-orientated with high energy, positivity, agility and pragmatism.
- Curiosity, a desire to learn and the aptitude to understand the business strategy, challenges and opportunities and have the ability to translate it into impactful communications/narratives.
- Willing to travel to other UK offices, as needed for events, training and meetings.
Desirable
- Professional qualification or formal training in (internal) communications or journalism.
- Practical video and/or podcast editing skills.
- An interest in engaging Gen Z employees.
- Membership of a professional body (IoIC, IABC or CIPR).
