The Role


The eDisclosure Senior Manager will be responsible for the creation, implementation, and management of the firm’s eDisclosure services within the UKI&ME region. The role requires a candidate with experience across a wide range of eDisclosure processes, including complex document reviews, IP, data privacy, data breaches, and compliance within the UK and Ireland legal framework. The qualified candidate will work closely with our legal teams to ensure that our eDisclosure practices are efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with all relevant regulations.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement a comprehensive eDisclosure strategy that addresses the full spectrum of digital evidence management;
  • Work closely with clients and lawyers to understand their needs and goals in relation to eDiscovery in the UKI&ME region;
  • Oversee the entire eDisclosure lifecycle, from identification and preservation to collection, processing, review, and production of documents, with a particular focus on the security of sensitive data;
  • Supporting and guiding lawyers in designing a document review strategy, balancing legal requirements with the application of new and emerging technologies;
  • Instructing and managing teams of document review paralegals as required for relevant projects;
  • Provide expert advice on the legal and technical aspects of eDisclosure, including data privacy laws such as GDPR, the UK Data Protection Act, and the implications of data breaches;
  • Train and mentor staff on eDisclosure best practices, data protection, and breach response procedures;
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and changes in regulations that may impact eDisclosure services and provide guidance to the teams;
  • Develop and monitor budgets for eDisclosure projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and value for clients while accounting for potential costs associated with data breach risks;
  • Liaise with clients to understand their eDisclosure needs, providing expert advice and solutions that prioritize data security and breach prevention;
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical guidelines in relation to eDiscovery in the UKI&ME region;
  • Collaborating with other departments within Dentons to provide eDiscovery services and support;
  • Oversee the management of the panel of eDisclosure providers. Provide strategic guidance on the firms use of these providers.


Required experience, skills, and attributes


  • Degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, law, or information management is advantageous;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in eDiscovery, including experience with ESI collection and processing, review, and production in the UKI&ME region;
  • Experience with eDisclosure platforms and technologies, as well as tools and practices for digital forensics, data breach investigations and remediation;
  • Comprehensive understanding of UK and Ireland laws and regulations related to eDisclosure;
  • Understanding of intellectual property law, data privacy, data breach protocols, and compliance issues related to eDisclosure;
  • Experience managing complex and high profile eDisclosure projects and teams;
  • Expert communication and project management skills;
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities;
  • Technical proficiency with eDiscovery software and tools, particularly Relativity;
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise various tasks;
  • Good project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and control crisis situations effectively;
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality work and maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of client data.
