Human Resources Business Partner - Melbourne based 


We seek a highly autonomous Human Resources Business Partner to work closely with the HR Director and broader HR team to provide high quality strategic support and guidance to the firm by implementing people strategies and practices, which support the firm's business objectives and continually improve the value of HR's contribution to the business.


You will lead key strategic projects, as well as provide hands on support to our Heads of Practice in a number of business units across the Australia/PNG/NZ operation of Dentons Australia. This is a great opportunity for you to join a supportive team who champion balancing flexibility with high performance.  Your role will include:  


  • Build trusted business partnerships and relationships at a senior level across the business units in Melbourne, and other offices as required.
  • Manage the firms employee lifecycle in tandem with the broader HR team
  • Manage the firms performance appraisal and remuneration processes
  • Provide succinct commercial employee relations advice to the business and actively manage risk
  • Support and coach people leaders in the management of people and performance issues
  • Support the development and implementation of change management strategies to improve business performance
  • Work with the HR Director in the development and delivery of HR projects, initiatives and strategies
  • Develop the skills of other HR team members through coaching
  • Work with Learning and Development to help drive learning and development initiatives
  • Ensure the firms HR related policies and procedures remain up to date with legislation and best practice
  • Support recruitment activities as required
  • Delivery and facilitate firm wide training and development sessions as required
  • Manage the firms succession planning process
  • Support WHS and employee wellbeing initiatives


You will have strong experience gained from HR manager, business partner or senior advisor level roles preferably from within the legal or professional services industry, together with sound judgment in people management issues and confident decision making ability.
