About the role
Dentons has an exciting opportunity for an Associate lawyer to join our premier Australian Intellectual Property and Technology practice. You will have the opportunity to work with national and international clients and colleagues on a complex and interesting range of matters spanning a wide range of industries and technologies.
Dentons’ IPT practice in Australia covers trade mark prosecution and portfolio management, advising on matters concerning confidential information / trade secrets, copyright, designs, domain names, patents, trade marks, IP disputes and litigation, IP commercialisation and licensing, data governance, AI, cyber security, privacy, telecommunications and technology transactions.
Much of our work has a significant international component. You will work collaboratively with leading IPT practitioners in a highly cohesive team. You will have excellent career growth and development opportunities, including the potential to work internationally with colleagues in the Dentons network around the world.
About You
You have:
- experience in IP disputes and Federal Court confidential information / copyright / design / patent / trade mark litigation;
- experience in progressing trade mark applications, non-use actions and oppositions before IP Australia;
- experience in transactional IP matters including drafting assignments and licences;
- the ability to build rapport with colleagues and clients;
- a high attention to detail;
- a commercially focussed problem solving mindset; and
- are personable, proactive and collaborative.
