The Role

We are looking for a talented employment lawyer to join a specialist team delivering high-volume Employment Tribunal work for a small number of major clients.

This is not a traditional private practice role. You will work as a true extension of client in-house legal teams, handling significant tribunal matters in a more focused, modern and tech-enabled way. It is a chance to do high-quality contentious work with real ownership, close client contact and the backing of Dentons’ Band 1 Employment team.

Why this role is different

  • You will work closely with a small number of key clients, not across countless competing demands.
  • You will gain a genuine understanding of client businesses and operate as a true extension of their in-house legal team.
  • You will be part of a modern, tech-enabled delivery model that combines legal expertise with smarter ways of working.
  • You will have the backing of a collaborative specialist team and Dentons’ Band 1 Employment practice.
  • The role offers more focus, greater predictability and, in many cases, more flexibility than a traditional private practice role, with working patterns that better reflect client team hours.
  • The team takes a grown-up approach to working life: it understands that people have commitments outside work and values trust, flexibility and clear communication alongside high performance.
  • It is a chance to do high-quality, high-profile work in a supportive team that works differently.

What you will do

  • You will manage a busy caseload of Employment Tribunal claims, mainly unfair dismissal and discrimination matters, delivering clear, commercial and practical advice at pace.
  • This is a role for someone who enjoys responsibility. You will be expected to take ownership of matters, build strong client relationships, work confidently within a structured delivery model, and help drive excellent service and continuous improvement.

Who we are looking for

  • We are interested in lawyers with 5+ PQE, although we would also welcome candidates with strong relevant experience at other levels.
  • You will ideally have:
  • strong general employment law experience;
  • solid Employment Tribunal experience;
  • excellent drafting and communication skills;
  • the ability to manage high volumes of work to tight deadlines;
  • strong organisational skills and attention to detail;
  • an interest in working in a more innovative, client-integrated way.
  • Experience of volume litigation is a strong advantage. Experience supervising junior lawyers is also welcome.

The kind of person who will thrive here

You will be:

  • commercially minded and solutions-focused;
  • confident taking ownership;
  • highly organised and calm under pressure;
  • committed to excellent client service;
  • collaborative, responsive and proactive;
  • open to new ways of working and improving how legal services are delivered.

Why join us?

This is a rare opportunity to do excellent Employment Tribunal work in a team that feels different: more connected to clients, more focused in scope, and more modern in approach. If you want strong quality work, real responsibility, close client relationships and the chance to be part of an ambitious and supportive team, this is a standout opportunity.
