Bilingual Manager, Proposals and Recognition

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, Proposals and Recognition Strategy, you will become part of a dynamic, innovative and creative team that directly impacts the Firm's new business development and market presence. You will be an integral part of a larger Profile and Client Development group focused on defining and articulating Dentons’ go-to-market strategy and aligning with global initiatives and best practice.
As a Proposal and Recognition Manager, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of compelling pitch and proposal materials in French and English, while championing proposal processes and procedures. You will guide teams through the full lifecycle of the proposal process from the +bid/no-bid process to the post-submission follow up with internal and external stakeholders. You bring value every step of the way through rigorous project management, exceptional writing skills, and strategic guidance on win themes and differentiators.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all aspects of the proposal process from receipt of the RFP to delivery of the final product. This includes evaluating the opportunity, developing strategies, creating compelling content, ensuring quality assurance and timely submission, and post-proposal review and analysis.
- Produce tailored win strategies, including unique sales propositions, evocative key messages, compelling and profitable pricing strategies and persuasive value propositions.
- Coach lawyers and professionals to fine tune structure and performance of finalist presentations.
- Work closely with the business development, creative and finance departments to ensure the smooth delivery of commitments in our successful pitches/proposals.
- Assist in driving and facilitating a formal debrief process (internal and external) to capture post-proposal analysis on major RFPs. The goal is to record lessons learned, potential improvements in process and offerings, and share useful data trends for use on future bids.
- Champion firm-wide education and adoption on proposal policy and opportunity evaluation.
- Provide guidance to the client development team, who may act as subject matter specialists on major RFPs, facilitating the process and simplifying cross-functional support and production.
- Ensure all proposals and pitches, as well as additional collateral, are consistent with branding guidelines.
- Support directory and award submissions.
- Assist in maintaining content libraries, including the Firm’s experience database.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Draft and review French marketing collateral, including thought leadership, social media content, presentations, award nominations and client-facing materials, ensuring that all content meets brand and style guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in leading and managing large, complex proposals.
- Previous proposal writing/management experience is a must; experience working in professional services is preferred; experience at a law firm is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both official languages with an emphasis on French and an ability to comfortably engage individuals at all levels of the firm.
- Must be able to demonstrate creativity, organization and coaching skills in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail are prerequisites.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
- Highly effective at prioritizing, multitasking and time management to meet multiple deadlines.
- Ability to absorb and translate complex ideas and translate them into clear, defined messages to a specific target audience.
- High level of business acumen, creative problem solving, critical thinking and analysis to identify and articulate key principles of value.
- Demonstrated commitment to privacy and ethical conduct.

This role is a replacement position.
The target salary range for this position is $93,000 – $110,000, commensurate with the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. Dentons is committed to equitable and competitive compensation. This target range falls within our internal salary ranges, which are based on comparable roles in the external market.
