Accounting & Finance Intern

Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting for an Intern to support our Accounting & Finance department. The ideal candidate would possess excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills and have great attention to detail.  This position will report to the Assistant Controller.

Responsibilities:

• Process daily banking journal entries for FSA and HSA; run reports from 3rd-party systems
• Maintain account schedules; prepare journal entries, as necessary
• Perform monthly reconciliations
• Coordinate and compile the Balance Sheet Package
• Review of posted journal entries to ensure accurate input
• Maintain general ledger accounts
• Accurate input of monthly exchange rates in the Firm’s general ledger system
• Assist with preparation of audit schedules
• Assist Administrative Assistant with ad hoc requests and special projects, when available
• Maintain confidentiality and internal controls as required by Firm policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with Firm's accounting policies and practices
• Other duties as needed to fully meet the requirements of the position

Experience and Qualifications:

• Undergraduate student with studies in Accounting or Finance
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Ability to pay close attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Flexibility
