Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting for a Business Development Specialist that will support its US Venture Technology Group, a boutique team within the Firm. This position will work with the Client Development Manager and with practice and sector team leaders to accelerate client engagement through the creation and delivery of disruptive strategies to generate new work, expand existing client relationships and enhance brand recognition. Responsibilities

  • Support the Client Development Manager in the creation of new strategic initiatives
  • Support the creation, preparation and coordination of distinctive proposals/pitches that differentiate Dentons and enable sales opportunities
  • Help plan and manage events to achieve desired outcomes and promote brand preference
  • Assist with the onboarding and integration of new partners
  • Maintain and update marketing materials
  • Collect data and report to league table companies, legal directories, and other priority publications to optimize market position; draft submissions for targeted rankings and industry awards
  • Update client and prospect mailing lists for coordinated outreach targeting key industries and audiences
  • Gather and organize experience and matters for the practice and related areas of service
  • Monitor, track and report on projects, outcomes, and ongoing activities based on the plans and budgets
  • Assist other marketing and business development projects as needed
  • Attend local firm hosted or sponsored events as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned to fully meet the requirements for this position

 

Experience & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of business development in a technology-focused organization, with preference to experience from VC/PE
  • Strong professional presence, ability to step into a fast paced environment working with a rapidly growing group, including managing expectations, prioritizing projects and dealing with ambiguity
  • Experience with global technology marketing issues and sensitivities
  • Strong understanding of emerging growth/venture business environment in the US and globally
  • Highly motivated, organized, and nimble self-starter; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Proficient at issue-spotting, and a strong intellectual curiosity about the business of law
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well at all levels within the organization, as well as with firm clients and industry partners
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite; experience with enterprise databases, market data tools and technology resources a plus

 

Salary Range

New York Only: $90,000 - $105,000
