Dentons US LLP is recruiting for an Events Specialist based in our New York office. This position will report to the Clients & Markets US Senior Events Manager and will work closely with the Business Development team. This position is responsible for managing the implementation of sponsorships and events in support of business development goals. This position will also develop and administer best practices for sponsorships and events and develop event-related operational goals, perform ROI analysis and track event data.



  • Manage firm client-facing events, including, but not limited to, webinars, client dinners, client appreciation events, client presentations/seminars, industry/conference sponsorships, CLE seminars
  • Provide support on larger internal meetings such as US partner meetings, WomenLEAD programs and other client-focused D&I related events
  • Oversee and manage the Firm’s involvement in department/industry sponsorships, liaising with others in business development as well as cross-department lawyer teams to ensure events align with business development objectives
  • Work with business development leads to maximize the Firm profile at conferences, marketing events and within the organizations in which the Firm retains membership
  • Work with office leadership and business development leads to research markets and identify event/sponsorship opportunities
  • Develop reporting metrics for sponsorships, CLEs, and other related activities
  • Manage the Firm's CRM tool (InterAction) from an events perspective, including list issues, data monitoring and cleaning, etc.
  • Work with Digital Marketing Team to develop event communications and registration sites
  • Facilitate the Firm’s branding equipment, collateral and giveaways used at events
  • Monitor and maintain any branded item inventory housed in the New York office
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners such as hotel sales representatives, key industry conference producers, and other outside vendors
  • Provide training, guidance, policies, procedures and best practices to business development personnel
  • Other duties as assigned to fully meet with the requirements of the position


Experience & Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; CMP is preferred, but not required
  • Candidate should have three or more years of events experience, preferably within a professional services environment
  • Candidate must have knowledge of Firm software such as Interaction or other related software
  • Candidate must have strong written/verbal communication skills and be able to work well with lawyers, other professionals and staff within the Firm
  • Ideal candidate will possess diplomacy, enthusiasm, perseverance and a sense of humor
  • Candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a high level of organizational and prioritization skills
  • This position requires the ability to work flexible hours in addition to and outside of normal business hours, and the willingness to monitor messages and respond to urgent requests after hours and on weekends
  • Travel will be required
