Senior Business Development Coordinator
New York, NY, US
Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting for a Senior Business Development Coordinator to support our Venture Technology & Emerging Growth Companies Group — a globally integrated practice advising venture-backed and high-growth companies from formation through exit, as well as venture capital and growth equity investors, corporate venture arms, and established technology platforms across their lifecycle.
This role sits at the center of the group’s day-to-day business development operations and strategic marketing initiatives. The position works closely with the Senior Business Development Manager, practice group leadership, and lawyers to execute high-impact initiatives across the venture capital, emerging companies, and broader technology ecosystem.
This is a highly visible role requiring strong organization, attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and confidence communicating with senior-level stakeholders. This is a hybrid position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support to lawyers and the Senior Business Development Manager in the creation, preparation and coordination of RFPs/proposals/pitches for new business development, tailoring content to respond to client needs and ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely submission.
- Conduct market analysis, industry and competitive intelligence research to identify business development and new go-to-market opportunities; investigate and develop information to assist lawyers with targeted outreach and relationship-building initiatives.
- Collect, draft, and maintain matter/deal summaries and representative experience for use in RFPs/proposals/pitches, bios, legal directory submissions, website content, annual reviews, press releases, and internal reporting.
- Maintain and update core pitch materials and marketing collateral, ensuring they accurately reflect recent experience, sector focus areas, strategic priorities, and relevant team members.
- Draft and complete awards and rankings submissions (including Chambers, Legal 500 and similar directories), lawyer recognition nominations, and manage the collection and submission of deal data to ranking agencies and league table providers (e.g., PitchBook), ensuring accurate tracking of matters and appropriate credit.
- Maintain tracking systems for deal activity, submissions, and business development initiatives, ensuring data integrity and organized recordkeeping while proactively managing timelines, identifying next steps, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and execution.
- Collaborate with practice group leaders and lawyers to develop and execute strategic business development and market visibility initiatives, including curated client programs, speaking engagements, CLEs, seminars, and webinars, including preparation of presentations and related materials.
- Work with cross-functional teams to create, develop and distribute thought leadership, client alerts, post-event follow-up, and other communications in compliance with firm policies and brand standards.
- Update and maintain client and prospect mailing lists and CRM records to support coordinated outreach targeting key industries and audiences.
- Contribute to internal onboarding, including orientation support and drafting bios for new lawyer hires.
- Other duties may be assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3–4 years of business development experience in a law firm, professional services organization, or comparable professional environment; prior law firm experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, adapt, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment, while working effectively and collaboratively as part of a cohesive team.
- Proficient at issue-spotting and identifying gaps or inconsistencies, with intellectual curiosity about the business of law, venture capital, and emerging growth companies.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, and strong communication, presentation, and project management skills.
- Strong professional presence and confidence interacting with senior-level lawyers and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with AI-driven tools, CRM systems, data platforms, and experience using marketing automation and analytical tools is a plus.
