About the Role

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to provide daily support to the business, with a key focus on Trust Account processes across our Perth, Brisbane, and Adelaide offices. This rewarding and autonomous role involves a variety of accounts duties, working in tandem with a tight-knit Finance team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support to the business with key focus on Trust Account processes in our Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide offices
  • Daily reconciliation of client settlement funds received and bank reconciliation of the firm’s Trust bank accounts
  • Daily processing of Trust receipts, payments and PEXA settlements
  • Process Trust journals and Trust to Office payments as required
  • Preparation of monthly Bank Reconciliations and end-of-month reports
  • Ensure Trust record keeping complies with all relevant jurisdiction regulations
  • Attend to trust queries from internal staff and external networks of banks and clients
  • Assist the annual audit with external auditors in relation to Trust operations
  • Process Landgate and SAILIS payments as required
  • Provide backup support for the Sydney Accounts Clerk (Trust receipts, PEXA and payments)
  • Generate Trust Receipts and Trust Statements on request

 

About You

  • 1- 3 years’ experience working in a Finance team in a professional services environment
  • Familiarity with a legal practice management system such as Elite 3e
  • Competent Excel and Word skills
  • Knowledge and experience of inhouse finance teams, working at a transactional level
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong numeracy skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
