Develop your skills working with a high-performing Real Estate team while gaining valuable exposure to complex property transactions and development projects. Supporting Partner Darryl Kipping and his team, this is an excellent opportunity for a junior to intermediate Legal Practice Assistant looking to build their career in a supportive and collaborative environment. 


The team advise a broad range of public and private sector clients across all aspects of commercial, contract and property law, including property acquisitions and disposals, major development projects, strata titling, leasing, joint ventures and large-scale property transactions. 


About the role


This is a busy, administration-focused role that will see you become an integral part of the team. Working closely with the legal team, you'll assist with the day-to-day management of matters from inception through to settlement and completion.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Opening and closing matters and maintaining electronic and physical files
  • Preparing contracts and managing DocuSign processes
  • Conducting Infotrack and other property searches
  •  Assisting with Landgate lodgements and coordinating PEXA settlements
  • Preparing for settlement and supporting the team through settlement processes
  • Drafting correspondence, preparing documents using precedents and making amendments
  • Managing the team's finance requirements, including billing, trust administration, expense claims, accounts payable, reporting and audit letters
  • Tracking key dates and deadlines across matters
  • Managing general administrative requirements, including mail, scanning, printing and document management.

 

About you


We are open to candidates from a range of legal practice areas. Real Estate experience is not essential. What is important is that you are organised, proactive and enjoy providing high-quality administrative support within a busy legal environment.


To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Previous experience in a Legal Assistant or administrative support role
  • Strong organisation skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Elite or other finance related software to proactively manage expenses, matters, timesheets, client billing and reporting requirements 
  • Knowledge of Outlook to track key dates and ensure deadlines are met
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to produce high-quality documentation
  • A positive, team-focused attitude and willingness to learn.
