Transactional Tax Specialist

We are looking for a Czech native speaking Transactional Tax Specialist for our Prague office.
We are seeking a tax expert, who has experience with tax advisory in transactions and understands how transactions are structured and carried out and what tax issues (in particular VAT) and matters need to be addressed within transactions.


About You:


•    You should be capable of addressing the specific tax matters (in particular in VAT area) in relation to acquisitions and disposals (both share deal and asset deal), tax structuring exercises, changes in and development of business and operational models (both domestic and cross-border), reorganizations and restructurings (both on company and group level), financing and financing-like services, mergers, demergers, and cross-border transformations.
•    You shall be able to identify tax adversities, opportunities, and risks within transactions and propose suitable solutions or ways forward (in particular in VAT area). 
•    You should possess general understanding of the transactional process (e.g. structuring for a transaction, general principles of purchase price calculation, tax DD and transposition of findings into SPA, and post completion integration). 

 

Main duties:


•    Transactional advisory in the area of the corporate income tax, VAT, and accounting matters and aspects.

•    Development of the practice with the aim of having 3-4 member team capable of doing cross-border structurings, DDs and other support/products relating to transactions, and litigations. 

 

Requirements:

 

 

  • Master’s Degree (preferably in taxation)
  • Certified Tax Advisor
  • Minimum 5-7 years of Experience
  • Good knowledge of VAT, knowledge in other taxes and/or customs is an advantage
  • General understanding of the transactional process
  • Fluent in Czech and English
  • Adaptable to business needs and different business cultures
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to operate under pressure and tight deadlines 
  • Ability to set priorities in your area of responsibility and meet deadlines
