Senior Associate (4-5 Years' PQE)

Location:

• Singapore or Johor Bahru, Malaysia

• Candidates based in Johor Bahru may work remotely

• Work arrangement for Singapore-based candidates can be discussed

• Travel is generally not required. Where necessary, travel may occasionally be required between Singapore, China and Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Partner in advising on and reviewing legal documentation relating to prospective investments, joint ventures and cross-border transactions

• Provide legal advice on corporate and commercial matters

• Review and draft contracts and transactional documents

• Assist with mergers and acquisitions, foreign direct investments, private equity and venture capital transactions

• Conduct legal research and provide practical legal solutions to clients

• Support business development and client relationship management initiatives where required

Requirements:

• Qualified lawyer in Singapore or Malaysia

• 4–5 years' PQE with a reputable local law firm

• Strong knowledge of local law, common law and English law

• Relevant experience in corporate transactions, including general corporate work, share purchases, foreign direct investments, mergers and acquisitions, and PE/VC investments

• Experience advising on contracts, investments, joint ventures and cross-border transactions

• Excellent written and spoken English

• Fluent spoken Mandarin Chinese

• Proficiency in an additional language would be advantageous

• Prior arbitration experience and/or financial services (capital markets) experience would be an advantage but is not mandatory
