We have a rare opportunity available for a Credit Office to join our Finance team in Sydney or Brisbane on a full time, permanent basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the debt collection process, focusing on the reduction of debtors, and ensuring invoices are collected efficiently and resolve any outstanding debts and queries.
About the role
• Manage a large ledger of outstanding debt, ensuring invoices are paid within terms
• Highlight problem customers to senior management
• Consistent follow up and collection of outstanding debtors via telephone and email
• Maintaining collections notes in the finance system for the purpose of reporting
• Review and follow up outstanding WIP and unbilled disbursements, ensuring they are billed
• Processing WIP and Debtor write offs
• Prepare and provide reports, including statements, reminder letters, reconciliations, ledger reports and other necessary reports as required by both internal and external clients
• Meet directly with Partners to discuss debtor and WIP ledgers.
About you
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a debt collection role with exposure to billings, credit and collection
• Understanding of the end-to-end Accounts Receivable process
• Experience dealing with banks and e-billing platforms
• Background in the Legal Industry or professional services environment preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent resolution and problem solving abilities
• Effective communicator both written and oral to all level of employees
• Time management skills with ability to meet deadlines and targets
• Intermediate computer software skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook
