About the Role

 

As a Knowledge Specialist, on a 12-month maximum term basis, you will deliver high‑quality legal, company and industry research. You will help ensure timely access to reliable information, effective research tools, and emerging technologies that support exceptional client service.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing quality legal, company and industry research to legal staff and Corporate Services
  • Conducting new client research to assist in clearing conflicts
  • Curating timely and relevant current awareness services tailored to practice area need
  • Maintaining FIRST library management software, including vendor communication and troubleshooting
  • Onboarding new starters to Research Centre services
  • Cataloguing and maintaining library collections, and updating Research Centre intranet content
  • Liaising with publishers regarding new PBOs, platform issues and database enhancements
  • Reviewing, developing, Research Centre procedures to ensure the smooth delivery of the Research Centre services
  • Supporting Knowledge projects to support continuous improvement in the services we offer.
  • Assisting with the implementation of new product trials, particularly legal AI tools, including user set‑up, vendor liaison, onboarding and ongoing user support
  • Keeping abreast of new technology and information resources to enhance knowledge services

 

About You

 

Dentons is seeking a Knowledge Specialist with a proactive, service‑focused mindset, strong research capability, and a genuine interest in how information, technology and emerging tools can support high‑performing legal teams. You will work closely with the Head of Knowledge, the Research Centre Manager, Partners, lawyers and business services teams across the firm.

 

To be successful, you will bring:

  • A professional qualification in library and information practice or a degree in Law or a related field
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Strong legal, company and industry research skills, with a solutions‑focused approach
  • An understanding of current technology, particularly legal AI, and how it can be used to support and enhance research services
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing requests
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively in a small team with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills with confidence supporting a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Experience with FIRST or similar library management systems, as well as content management platforms and SharePoint
