Join a leading Recovery & Restructuring practice
Dentons is seeking two talented Associates (3 years' PQE) to join our high-performing Recovery & Restructuring team in Sydney.
This is an excellent opportunity to build your expertise across a broad range of banking litigation and insolvency matters, working alongside recognised leaders in the field and acting for major financial institutions, private credit providers and corporate clients.
We have many internal committees you can join where many of our staff are working together to make a change through pro-bono work or community engagement.
The Opportunity
The role will include:
- Acting for major Australian banks, private credit funds, in complex recovery and enforcement matters.
- Managing a portfolio of secured mortgage recovery matters involving court appearances, insolvency issues, enforcement strategies and advisory work.
- Opportunities to work on matters involving receiverships, voluntary administrations and liquidations.
- Working closely with multiple partners across the team, providing exposure to a variety of clients, industries and approaches to practice.
This role offers genuine responsibility from day one, with the support and mentoring needed to continue developing your technical and commercial skills.
This is a fast moving, high-performing and collaborative team that likes to promote from within.
About You
You will bring:
- 3 years' post-qualification experience in secured recoveries, banking litigation and security reviews with the confidence to run these matters.
- Strong drafting and written communication skills, including advice work, preparation of court documents and counsel briefs.
- Court and advocacy experience (ideal but not essential).
- A proactive, collaborative approach and a genuine desire to learn and develop your career.
The ideal candidates will be quietly confident and have the ability to work well autonomously on the high-volume matters, and with support on the more complex matters.
