Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis, and working closely with the Director of Financial Reporting, Planning and Analysis, the Financial Reporting Analyst will be deeply involved in streamlining and standardizing key areas of financial reporting, planning and analysis. The incumbent must be able to thrive in a changing environment. As the Firm embarks on a Firmwide Finance Transformation (FFT) project, this role will evolve to support the new ways of working at the Firm. The Analyst will be participate in the global reporting process and will collaborate with the global and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of the data requested.
What you will be doing:
- As part of Financial Planning & Analysis team, the candidate will act as a business partner to the directors of finance, business services professionals and practice group leaders.
- Building and maintaining reports and dashboards in Power BI for the finance team and collaborating with the cross-functional team for standardizing reports.
- Acting as the backup on the preparation and coordination of financial presentations for the Board and National Management Committee.
- Preparing monthly and quarterly client reports for Canada and Global teams.
- Supporting and helping drive the annual budget process, quarterly forecasting, and ongoing financial reporting in the region and to the central (global) region.
- Assist with the pricing analysis of national and global RFPs and recommend pricing based on data using diverse approaches such as blended rates, fixed or flat fees, capped/ collar fees, contingency, volume-based discounts, and standard hourly rates.
- Participate and assist in leading different areas of the FFT project, this includes reviewing deliverables from the central team, creating reports for user acceptance testing and go-live, setting up test cases, and following up on errors and bugs and documentation.
- Perform reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Other ad hoc tasks and projects as needed.
What are we looking for?
The Financial Reporting Analyst should display a high degree of responsibility, initiative, and business acumen. The ideal candidate must be able to effectively work with multidisciplinary, cross-functional, and international teams. The candidate likes to work in a challenging and changing environment and is a creative problem-solver with solid financial knowledge. The candidate must be analytical and have a proven experience in financial reporting & analysis, with the ability to balance data analysis and information with timely decision-making.
Position Requirements
Education
Undergraduate business degree with a focus in Accounting/Finance and possessing an MBA or any analytics certification or diploma would be an asset.
Experience
- 5 years of proven experience in building dashboards/reports within the accounting and finance domain
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel and PowerPoint), Power BI.
- Strong SQL Expertise and DAX (Power BI).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work in a growing area and with a high level of ambiguity, without sacrificing detail.
- Able to work independently with some direction, must be able to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity.
- An outside-the-box thinker who is able to solve problems independently.
- Able to manage various deadlines simultaneously.
