This role is a fixed contract for 16 months.
POSITION SUMMARY
Working with Dentons Canada’s Chief Transformation Officer, the Manager, Portfolio Management and Strategic Initiatives supports our operational effectiveness in a number of ways, including through strategy development, analysis of ongoing operations, strategic communications, business modelling and reporting, and executing on our operations strategy.
This role involves working directly with the leadership team and contributing to key strategic initiatives at a leading law firm. The Manager, Portfolio Management and Strategic Initiatives will have the opportunity to focus on both operational and strategic projects at the firm. The successful candidate must be comfortable working on multiple projects in parallel and be energized about building new processes and working with agility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Dentons Canada’s Chief Transformation Officer with national strategy development and implementation.
- Lead the project management of internal initiatives including reporting and financial analysis.
- Support internal strategic communications to senior management and Dentons partners.
- Contribute to the development and/or rollout of new operational management tools and processes.
- Identify and analyze cross-disciplinary operational issues including researching and recommending innovative solutions based on established and emerging best practices.
- Contribute to national and global cross-disciplinary projects and initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Dataverse, Forms and/or Power Apps considered an asset.
- Outstanding written communication skills.
- Previous experience working in a law firm or other professional services firm is an asset.
- Curiosity and ability to learn quickly.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with a focus on data and statistical analysis.
- Exceptional eye for detail, particularly in visual presentation elements.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, research and recommend innovative solutions to problems.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in collaboration with colleagues, all levels of management, lawyers and other stakeholders.
- Highly-effective project management, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution and relationship management skills.
- Understanding of the principles of confidentiality and a commitment to privacy and ethical conduct.
- Bilingualism (French / English) is an asset.

The target salary range for this position is $95,000 – $115,000, commensurate with the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. Dentons is committed to equitable and competitive compensation. This target range falls within our internal salary ranges, which are based on comparable roles in the external market.
