POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Specialist, Client Development & Events (Contract) will play a key role in supporting the Firm’s client engagement strategy through the planning and execution of high-quality events. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing Operations & Client Experience, this individual will help ensure that our seminars, conferences, receptions, and webinars deliver a seamless experience and strengthen client relationships.

 

The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and brings strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities. They anticipate needs, provide proactive solutions, and have a passion for elevating the client experience. This role requires a hands-on team player who is equally comfortable managing logistics, coordinating with vendors, and engaging directly with internal stakeholders and clients.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Senior Manager, Marketing Operations and Client Experience and the Profile and Client Development team in the planning and execution of client-facing events, including in-person seminars, webinars and receptions
  • Lead coordination of event logistics, including budgets, mailing lists, invitations and RSVPs, venue and catering details, event materials, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Serve as on-site event lead, managing logistics, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a positive client experience.
  • Oversee the coordination, inventory, and distribution of promotional items, including sourcing, ordering, tracking, and replenishment.
  • Maintain and update the Firm’s event portal and client-facing CPD (Continuing Professional Development) webpage and brochure.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage vendor and venue relationships to ensure quality, value, and consistency with Firm standards.
  • Develop pre- and post-event reports, track attendance and feedback, and schedule debrief sessions with stakeholders to measure success and identify improvements.
  • Stay current on industry trends, new venues, restaurants, event formats, and provide recommendations to enhance the client experience.
  • Collaborate with the Profile and Client Development team to ensure events are aligned with broader Firm initiatives and communications strategies.
  • Ensure all events reflect the Firm’s brand standards and comply with relevant regulations
  • Perform other duties and special projects as required.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary degree in marketing, business administration, communications or event management/hospitality
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in events, client relations, marketing, experience working in a professional services environment preferred
  • Creative, enthusiastic and results-driven team-player who can work collaboratively with local and national multidisciplinary teams
  • Self-motivated and proactive, as well as independent and capable of working with minimum supervision
  • Superior organizational and project management skills—ability to multi-task; prioritize and organize deliverables; work under pressure; and work with multifaceted, complex projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate with external contacts and individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Highly professional approach at all times
  • Ability to manage problems and situations that are constantly changing while using considerable judgement and analysis to determine effective solutions
  • Recognition of the significant impact that decisions have on the organization’s public image, internal operations, services or programs and corporate objectives
  • Experience using Zoom and Teams to develop and deliver virtual events
  • Must be proficient working with the entire Microsoft Office Suite and using a CRM system
  • Demonstrated commitment to privacy and ethical conduct
  • Ability to work in-office, be onsite at events and work outside of business hours is required
