POSITION SUMMARY

 

Dentons is seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team of Corporate Paralegals in our Vancouver office for a 12-to-18 month parental leave contract. As a valued member of our team, you will play an integral role in managing various aspects of the Corporate practice. RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Coordinate the incorporation and organization of British Columbia and Federal companies.
  • Prepare and file extra provincial registrations and related changes.
  • Manage corporate transactions including amalgamations, continuations (into and out of British Columbia), and dissolutions.
  • Process corporate name changes in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Prepare and file director, officer, and shareholder changes.
  • Register and amend partnership and business name registrations.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new corporate clients, including reviewing and rectifying deficiencies in corporate records and preparing change of registered and records office documents.
  • Maintain and update electronic minute books in accordance with firm and legislative standards.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of British Columbia and Federal transparency registers, including data entry into Athennian.
  • Provide general corporate services support and perform additional tasks as required.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Previous office experience within a professional services or legal environment is required.
  • Minimum of five to seven years of experience in the Corporate Records practice area, with demonstrated senior-level experience preparing transactional and corporate documentation.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage complex corporate transactions from inception to completion.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate procedures, corporate governance principles, and business law.
  • Paralegal diploma or equivalent legal training is considered an asset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Word and Outlook; experience with Athennian or similar entity management software is an asset.

The expected salary range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience.
