This POSITION SUMMARY
Dentons is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Corporate Paralegal to join our Vancouver office as a Compliance Team Lead. Reporting to the Corporate Services Supervisor, the Compliance Team Lead serves as a senior compliance resource, coordinating workflow, supporting the day-to-day delivery of compliance services, and promoting operational excellence across the compliance function. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide ongoing guidance, knowledge sharing, and technical support to compliance team members on compliance procedures, best practices, and legislative requirements;
- Serve as the primary resource for compliance-related questions and procedural guidance within the compliance team.
- Monitor and triage compliance-related requests and serve as the primary contact for lawyers and clients on day-to-day compliance matters.
- Coordinate compliance workflow, prioritize monthly deadlines, and distribute workload to support the timely completion of compliance obligations.
- Prepare and provide monthly compliance status reports to the Supervisor, highlighting workload volumes, outstanding matters, and potential risks.
- Maintain compliance control lists and allocate work assignments to support efficient workflow management.
- Identify and escalate complex, sensitive, or high-risk compliance matters to the Supervisor, as appropriate.
- Facilitate regular compliance team meetings to review workflow, monitor deadlines, and identify workload priorities and resource needs.
- Conduct monthly compliance database audits, including reviewing data integrity ensuring key compliance dates and records are accurate and up to date.
- Meet regularly with the Supervisor to provide workflow updates and identify opportunities to improve compliance procedures, data quality, and operational efficiencies.
- Prepare and file compliance documents (including annual reports and resolutions) for British Columbia and Federal entities and monitor applicable deadlines.
- Prepare and coordinate extra-provincial annual reports for all Canadian jurisdictions, liaising with agents and monitor applicable deadlines.
- Prepare and/or revise any documents related to changes to annual maintenance documents, such as changes of officers, directors and principal addresses, including change of outgoing registered and records office.
- Process Transparency Register annual review confirmations.
- Process electronic minute book filing for compliance documents and various other executed documents.
- Process Notices of Commencement of Dissolution received from BC Registries.

REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years’ experience working within the Corporate Records practice area preparing annual compliance packages is required
- Experience providing technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and onboarding support to team members.
- Paralegal diploma an asset
- Knowledge of the Business Corporations Act (British Columbia) and Canada Business Corporations Act
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills; able to manage competing deadlines
- Demonstrate excellence in grammar, proofreading and meticulous attention to detail across all deliverables
- Professional and courteous communication with clients, and internal teams
- Demonstrate reliability, confidentiality, and commitment to service excellence
- Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to changing priorities, and exercise sound judgment under pressure
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to format complex legal documents, manage data

The target salary range for this position is $85,000 – $100,000, commensurate with the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
