Dentons US LLP is recruiting for an Events Specialist ideally based in our Washington, D.C. or Atlanta office. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Special Projects and will work closely with the Business Development team. This position is responsible for managing the implementation of sponsorships and events in support of business development goals. This position will also develop and administer best practices for sponsorships and events and develop event-related operational goals, perform ROI analysis and track event data. This is a hybrid position.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Manage Firm events, including, but not limited to, client dinners, client appreciation events, client presentations/seminars, industry/conference sponsorships and internal retreats.
  • Provide support on larger internal strategy meetings, office-specific sponsorships and related initiatives.
  • Oversee and manage the Firm’s involvement in department/industry sponsorships, liaising with others in business development as well as cross-department lawyer teams to ensure events align with business development objectives.
  • Work with business development leads to maximize the Firm profile at conferences, marketing events and within the organizations in which the Firm retains membership.
  • Collaborate with office leadership and business development leads to research markets and identify event/sponsorship opportunities to enhance firm visibility.
  • Develop reporting metrics for sponsorships, CLEs, and other related activities.
  • Manage the Firm's CRM tool (InterAction) from an events perspective, including list issues, data monitoring and cleaning, etc.
  • Work with Digital Marketing Team to develop event communications and registration sites. 
  • Facilitate the Firm’s branding equipment, collateral and giveaways used at events; and coordinate and maintain the branded item inventory.
  • Foster and sustain relationships with external partners, including hotel sales representatives, key industry conference producers, and other outside vendors, to secure enhanced financial benefits for the Firm.
  • Offer training, guidance, policies, procedures and best practices to enhance collaboration with business development personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned to fully meet with requirements of the position. 

Experience & Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; CMP is preferred, but not required.
  • Candidate should have three or more years of events experience, preferably within a legal and/or professional services environment.
  • Candidate must have knowledge of Firm software such as Interaction, FreshService and other related software.
  • Candidate must have strong written/verbal communication skills and be able to work well with lawyers, other professionals and staff within the Firm.
  • Ideal candidate will possess diplomacy, enthusiasm, and perseverance.
  • Candidate must be capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and possess strong management skills. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours in addition to and outside of normal business hours, and the willingness to monitor messages and respond to urgent requests after hours and on weekends.
  • Travel is required.

Salary:

Washington, D.C. Only DOE $85,000 -  $95,000
