Manager, Business Development (Public Policy and Federal Regulatory)

Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager for its regulatory areas of practice including: telecommunications, advocacy and government affairs, international trade, financial services, transportation, State Attorneys General, and Native American Law & Policy. This position will reside in our Washington, DC office working closely with the Practice Group Leader.  This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to market a growing practice at one of the largest global law firms.


Responsibilities 
•  Work with the partners and professionals to provide create, prepare and coordinate sales proposals/pitches for new business development tailoring the information to respond to the client needs
•  Develop an annual strategic business development plan for the practice with the Practice Group Leader and other key partners and professionals
•  Develop an annual marketing and business development budget (MBD) for the practice with the Practice Group Leader.  Monitor and track MBD expenditures for expense management purposes
•  Support lawyers and professionals in the development, publishing and promotion of thought leadership
•  Oversee the drafting and submission of Chambers USA and other rankings and directories submissions
•  Conduct business development market analysis, industry and competitive intelligence research reports for business development opportunities. Investigate and develop information to assist attorneys with business development and relationship-building initiatives
•  Work with the attorneys to identify and secure develop, prepare and support marketing initiatives to help our lawyers and professionals with speaking engagements and other events, including the production of PowerPoint and other types of presentations and exhibits
•  Actively participate in practice group meetings; report regularly to each practice on their initiatives and results
•  Organize and manage client-appreciation and other events in addition to seminars/webinars
•  Supervise the management of client and prospect mailing lists
•  Manage a Senior BD Coordinator assigned to the practice
•  Other duties as assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position


Qualifications 
•  Successful candidates will have 4+ years experience planning, executing and evaluating the ROI of all BD initiatives to attract, retain and expand a loyal client base
•  Candidates will have strong project management skills, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to multi-task various projects
•  Previous professional services and regulatory experience is preferred
