Our Major Projects & Construction Team

Our national Major Projects & Construction team is involved in some of New Zealand’s largest and most complex disputes work. 

Led by Brendan CashStuart RobertsonPaul BuetowKatrina Van HoutteSara Cheetham and David Newport, our team includes highly experienced dispute resolution lawyers who are recognised for their expertise in the construction and infrastructure sectors and associated insurance disputes work. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside leading partners and many of New Zealand’s highly regarded King’s Counsel, gaining exposure to complex matters and exceptional opportunities for professional development.

Your role will be assisting with managing various large scale disputes for a wide range of clients including construction companies, consulting engineers, principals, local authorities and Government agencies.  There are also opportunities for involvement in construction insurance disputes work.

We are seeking candidates located in Auckland or Wellington.

About you

You will have:

  • The natural ability to work collaboratively in a high performing national team and a desire to build your career as a recognised dispute resolution lawyer
  • An interest in working with a dynamic and fast paced industry and being involved in high profile projects that are transforming New Zealand for the future
  • 4-8 years’ post qualification experience in litigation and dispute resolution 
  • Experience in construction and/or insurance dispute resolution would be advantageous. Although we welcome applications from lawyers with general litigation or dispute resolution experience who are looking to develop a specialist construction practice.
